DATE: To be rescheduled
Due to the unfortunate news of a Covid-19 outbreak in Melbourne with additional Covidsafe measures announced for Victoria, the AGDA Create Change Exhibition Event on Friday 4th June will be rescheduled to a future date. Tickets already registered for the exhibition and Charlie Ryan’s talk will be honoured for the rescheduled date.
With heart and hope, we are optimistic Victoria is capable of getting through this. We look forward to seeing you in-person when we can. Until then, watch this space and stay safe!
AGDA Design Shift invites you to an exhibition that is a little less traditional with a lot more heart. We have a treat for the senses, from the design mavericks, creatives, people from businesses and organisations who have aimed to create change by use of their talents, passion and abilities.
As an extension of a series of talks held in late March for Melbourne Design Week, challenging us to ‘Design the world we want’, AGDA facilitates this opportunity to come together, to inspire and connect with creative minds and to show how effective design can be used for good. See the ideas, understand the craft and realise the impact of all the people who design these experiences. We are honoured to present a variety of work that has inspired change, whether it be for good business, social or environmental impact.
This exhibition brings together a collection of brand, creative advertising and strategy, UX, interactive, new media & technology, video, graphic design, art, illustration to print and packaging design. We will showcase works from multidisciplinary designers, organisations and innovative thinkers.
As part of this special event, we feature a talk from Charlie Ryan, an artist, designer and Creative Director at Five Creative, who will delve into the topic of ‘design for good’. Find out how he and Five Creative have applied the power of design to help people and businesses in their community, with a particular focus on their more recent projects in response to the ongoing pandemic.
Join us for a drink to conclude, with an opportunity to connect with the community of designers, creators, thought leaders and businesses who aim to make a positive impact.

We are excited to be hosting the event at the new premises of JMC Academy in South Melbourne. As an official AGDA Education Partner, JMC is proud to be supporting this event by providing support services.
We look forward to seeing you there!
Guest speaker, Charlie Ryan: 6pm.

Charlie is an artist, designer and the Creative Director at Five Creative. Co-founded by Charlie and James Baker in 2009, the brand and web design agency has studios in both Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula, working with a range of clients both locally and abroad. In their response to the COVID-19 Crisis, Five Creative self-funded a free online directory and campaign to support SMBs in the Mornington Peninsula region of Victoria, called ‘Hopen for Business’. As well as a positive and unifying national campaign called ‘V for Victori (V for Victori-a)’ that, accompanied with strong visual designs, promotes an ongoing message for ‘heart, hope and solidarity’ across the country.
