Dames & Dumplings is an annual event hosted by AGDA for and about women in the creative industry, which as the title reveals includes eating dumplings (obvs).
Our three talented panellists all have their own story to share but this year, our debates and discussions will centre around the topic: Nourish — Nourishing the mind, nourishing the world and nourishing the heart.
More than ever, we at AGDA feel a sense of purpose in what we do – supporting our members, Australian creatives and the industry through a difficult and uncertain period. It has never been more important. We have all had to rethink the way we live, work and feel. All of our lives have been affected and changed by Covid-19. And it has never been more important to come together, to connect and support one another to remain safe and nourished.
To every creative dame, this is for you. Dames & Dumplings provides an opportunity to connect as a creative community and as women.

Beci Orpin is a creative practitioner based in Melbourne, Australia. Her work occupies a space between illustration, design and craft. Beci has run her studio for over 20 years, catering to a wide range of clients, as well as exhibiting her work both locally and internationally.
She has authored and illustrated four D.I.Y books and three children’s titles. Her work is described as colourful, graphic, bold, feminine and dream-like, and she has been referred to as a ‘national treasure’.

After working for agencies such as Frost and eskimo, Graziela made the move into the freelance world. One of her favourite projects was creating the design of FEAST, a kids education program by OzHarvest. This project inspired her to become more mindful of the impact us as designers have on people and our planet.
With a passion for mental health, education and sustainability, Graziela is currently creating a new brand for her business, which will focus on bringing about positive change.
Elizaveta is a Senior Creative and Art Director working with the wonderful humans of Accompany. Elizaveta has been nourishing her mind (and heart) for the last 10 years, working with a wide range of clients and honing her craft at some of Australia’s best known studios including eskimo, Moon, Mojo and Boccalatte.
But above all she believes in self-love and does so with her garden, home-made pickles and 1 year old boxer-lab, Sully.
